The bustling Hampton Inn Santa Monica and Courtyard Santa Monica are looking for a detail oriented Area Group Sales Manager to join our team. This role will work directly with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Director of Revenue Management for both properties to negotiate pricing and optimize production to positively impact hotel revenues. This is an overtime eligible manager (OEM) position. We are committed to providing you with: Highly competitive salary of $85,000 annually An exceptional benefit plan for eligible associates & your family members 401K matching program for eligible associates Flexible scheduling to allow you to focus on what is important to you Discounts with our Crescent managed properties in North America for you & your family members ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Work directly with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Director of Revenue Management for both properties to negotiate pricing and optimize production to positively impact hotel revenues. Build relationships through proactive account solicitation and responsive sales opportunities; Activities could include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, site inspections, trade shows, etc. Responsible for effectively soliciting and securing new group business from a variety of markets while strengthening the relationships and production of existing group accounts. Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities. Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Provide accurate & comprehensive reporting when needed. Utilize knowledge of market trends and target customer information to maximize revenue. Understand competitors' strengths/weaknesses, current economic trends, and supply/demand for midtown. Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (I.E., generating proposals, writing contracts, customer correspondence, etc.). Achieve personal sales goals. Gain understanding of the location's primary target customer and service expectations; serve the customer by understanding their business and concerns, offering better business solutions. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: A minimum of two years of hotel group sales experience is required. The ideal candidate will have local market experience.
