Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accounting Manager with extensive experience and knowledge of the NetSuite Finance and Accounting modules. You will be responsible for supervising a number of accounting team members and overseeing internal control initiatives and roll-outs while supporting the Financial Controller in documenting all accounting policies and disclosures alongside the creation of procedure controls and operational checklists for staff. As the role evolves, you will become integral in enforcing the internal controls to safeguard company assets of a financial and physical nature. You will be responsible for ensuring the accounting team staff members understand their responsibilities and work assignments to ensure a timely and accurate financial statement close each month. Operationally, you will be involved in and hold leadership roles in various accounting functions including but not limited to the treasury function and the daily banking of the company, accounts payables, accounts receivable, travel expense tracking, expense card controls and tracking, and other various general ledger accounting matters. In addition, you will be responsible for all month-end sales & use tax compliance, credit card processing, merchant ID and Terminal ID set up for our own brands and sometimes for the brands of our customers. Supporting the CFO and Financial Controller with insurance matters and special projects. This role is expected to be a transformative leadership role, and the Sr. Accounting Manager should hold the expectation that each quarter will be different from the last and that their measurement of success will be driven by accounting function operational efficiencies over time and nailing the timely and accurate financial statement close. SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $100,000 annually LOCATION: Must be based in the United States TRAVEL: REQUIRED YES, UP TO FOUR TIMES PER YEAR Key Responsibilities: Supervising Accounting Team staff on their daily workflow to ensure there are no blockers. Ensure cash out and cash in to the business is recorded daily, accurately, and uses technology efficiently to get this done. Support the client relations and operations team with their client onboarding and Merchant ID and Terminal ID set ups. Support the Finance and Operations function by maximizing the inventory controls and functionality of NetSuite to that end. Participate in, organize, and run inventory counts at various warehouses across the United States. Serve as a resource and educator to our internal partners on inventory best practices and controls and ensure our operational controls meet the highest standards of financial accounting regulations. Become our team's master of fixed assets - the machines we manufacture, the machines we sell, and the machines we run for our own labels. In addition, become the primary source for the insurance and compliance functions for the leasing and the furloughing of all our machines. Ensure the month-end close process stays on track and coordinate the process with the Financial Controller. Understand and serve as the primary control on all vendor accounts. Understand and ensure the revenue of our clients and of our business are handled and delivered accurately and in a timely fashion. Primary focus is on understanding the requirements of all our client contracts and ensuring the accounting team organizes itself to deliver on those promises. Become a thought leader and internal advocate for the development and maximization of the organization's use of NetSuite. Ensure the Policies and procedures of the accounting and compliance functions are not only documented, but that those documents are systematically reviewed and updated periodically throughout a calendar year. Drive the accounting function towards excellence and the goal of reviewed annual and later audited financial statements. Support the Financial Controller with the preparation and reporting of all income tax in all jurisdictions. Support the Financial Controller with all regulatory compliance across jurisdictions and across functional needs. Position Requirements Education: Bachelor or Master's degree from a U.S. accredited institution with a major study in accounting. Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience with a Big-4 audit firm, progressing to a manager level. FMCG - Fast Moving Consumer Goods experience a plus. 5+ years of professional accounting experience in a corporate environment, including at least 2 years in a managerial role. Previous experience in a technology startup environment. Strong attention to detail and a hands-on mindset. Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to build, develop, and manage teams. Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and implementing financial processes and systems. Experience working in a global business environment. Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field. A master's degree in Accounting/Business or qualification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or auditor. Expertise in internal controls required for accounting and financial reporting in the U.S. At least 5 years of experience with NetSuite is highly desirable. Experience with Google Workspace necessary to survive. CPA certification is preferred. A genuine interest in deploying AI wherever efficiencies can be had through its use. Must be willing to constantly become more efficient and constantly seek to automate everything. This is a full-time position with our growing team in our wonderful San Leandro Warehouse facility.
