Location: Houston, United States Sector: Energy & Renewables Salary: Salary commensurate with years of experience Petroplan is working exclusively with a global energy company to staff an exciting LNG production and export terminal mega-project. We are recruiting a talented Instrument & Controls Engineer professional for a position based in Houston, TX who meets the following criteria. Reports To: Engineering Manager Responsibilities: HSEQ Ensure compliance with Company & Project and industry HSSE policies, standards, and regulations throughout all phases of the project lifecycle. Ensure all design, construction, and maintenance activities comply with industry codes, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. Develop and implement integrity management plans for LNG infrastructure, including corrosion prevention, maintenance schedules, and inspection programs. Contribute to HSEQ performance, promoting a positive and collaborative team culture. Leadership Lead and manage the I&C project team, ensuring deliverables meet quality, safety, cost, and schedule standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with key asset stakeholders. Provide risk-based leadership, governance, and coordination for construction-related activities. Work Processes & Systems Support RFPs, cost estimations, detailed engineering, and field activities, including procurement, construction, and commissioning. Develop and manage asset Management of Change with approvals from key stakeholders, focusing on I & C discipline. Technical Perform and oversee I&C design and engineering tasks, ensuring adherence to project specifications, codes, and standards. Ensure conformance with the approved Basis of Design. Provide discipline expertise to verify and assure I & C/electrical scope compliance with contract quality and technical requirements. Manage and coordinate approvals for technical changes. Assure, verify, and influence contractors' work and practices to validate progress payments, input into commercial discussions, and mitigate risks. Key Accountabilities Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to define scope, allocate resources, and manage project progress. Work closely with the on-site quality team to meet project objectives. Maintain close collaboration with the core engineering team. Build and maintain strong relationships with key asset stakeholders. Provide risk-based leadership, governance, and coordination for construction-related activities. Manage the safe execution of work to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Skills & Experience Expertise in instrument and control engineering or electrical engineering disciplines. Competency in I & C discipline or actively working towards attaining it. Experience managing or performing EPC projects is preferred. Familiarity with asset Management of Change systems. Prior experience in Woodside operations teams is an advantage. Knowledge of construction practices, including completion management processes. Proficiency in Woodside's Management of Change Process. Strong contract management knowledge with a commercial acumen. Solid understanding of Process Safety, particularly in Operations or Brownfields environments. Excellent communication, decision-making, and negotiation skills. Proven relationship-building and leadership abilities. Flexibility and adaptability to perform a wide range of site-based tasks. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or trade pathway background. Minimum 15 years of direct Instrumentation & Control design and engineering experience.
