The Director of Sales will lead and expand our sales team while driving significant growth for zyBooks' innovative products. This role is pivotal in shaping the perception, reputation, and adoption of zyBooks solutions across campuses globally. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic sales professional with a deep understanding of technical workflows and a passion for customer success. Working closely with Wiley's library sales colleagues, the Director will spearhead initiatives to increase market penetration and accelerate the adoption of zyBooks solutions, ensuring they are recognized as a premier resource within the academic community. How you will make an impact: Achieve and exceed ambitious sales growth targets in a rapidly evolving market. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives. Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing sales team to deliver results. Identify and develop new business opportunities, including new markets and partnerships. Establish clear performance metrics and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to the sales team. Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales strategies with broader organizational goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to adjust strategies proactively. Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new sales team members. Drive strong market adoption and customer acceptance for an innovative product line. Become a subject matter expert on zyBooks' solutions, including their technical and workflow-related aspects, to articulate value to prospective customers. Leverage market knowledge and experience with library workflows, particularly within consortia settings, to identify and capitalize on opportunities. Strengthen zyBooks' market visibility and brand reputation within the academic and library communities. Manage the sales budget, including forecasting and reporting on sales performance metrics. What we look for: Proven success in sales leadership, with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets. Demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams, minimum 5 years of experience. Deep understanding of the academic publishing industry, including emerging trends and technologies. Experience with SaaS or technology-based solutions tailored to institutional customers. Strong knowledge of library operations, workflows, and a network of decision-makers at all levels. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build trust and foster lasting customer relationships. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
