The Role We are currently seeking a Senior Lead Security Architect, to join the Public Sector Security Architecture and Engineering team. In this role, you will be a part of a team that builds security solutions to protect Lumen public sector customers and infrastructure from advanced security threats. Your specific responsibility will be to provide subject matter expertise for infrastructure, systems and applications supporting our Public Sector security portfolio, including innovation and development of security architectures and roadmaps. Additionally, in this role you will collaborate with Product Development, IT, Security Operations and Managed Services teams, and provide the security technology expertise in development of future business security strategies. Location This role is designated as a fully remote position within the United States. The Main Responsibilities Develop modern, cloud-first platform and systems architecture in support of public sector security services. Keep up to date on cyber policy and legislation matters, develop and implement the security infrastructure to align with business requirements and security standards. Help identify the development scope and lead the technical architecture development in support of Lumen Public Sector SOC technology transformation into the gov cloud environments. Build multivendor network, compute, virtualization and security systems in gov cloud environments that can rapidly meet and prove compliance. Build standard inter cloud environment control planes and data planes to support distributed, federally compliant security services. Lead architectural approval, project coordination, and security certification processes and generate high-quality technical documentation and configuration guides to support architecture and solution designs. Develop workload migration plans, and collaborate on the migration initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption to services and optimal performance. Responsible for the technology selection process to include requirements consolidation into RFI/RFP/RFQ, technology recommendation, Proof-of-Concept testing/Prototyping and Technology Selection. Develop partnerships with key equipment suppliers. Communicate requirements, guidance, and vision to the vendor community to develop, implement and support security solutions. What We Look For in a Candidate Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure design and implementation roles, including 3+ years in security architecture and strategy development role. Experience in architecting the service provider-grade security infrastructure - with specific focus on public/private cloud deployment, integrated network architectures, management of multi-cloud environments, and successfully migrating workloads to the cloud. Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, storage and platform services and proficiency in cloud-native tools, virtualization and orchestration. Relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS certified solutions architect, Azure solutions architect or Google cloud professional architect. Experience developing solutions per FISMA, DCID, NIST policy frameworks, FedRAMP, CISA and GSA compliance requirements - while maintaining balance between functionality, performance, scalability and reliability. Architecture design experience in laying out the framework that allows for scalable virtualization, orchestration, automation and monitoring for application and services deployments in the cloud. Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Docker, Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD; configuration management tools such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef; and scripting language development experience. Preferred Qualifications: Strong preference to candidates with SOC (Security Operations Center) infrastructure design and cloud deployment experience. Working experience in large service provider Managed Security Services organization developing and supporting the security infrastructure. Experience working with government programs and contractors - security clearance is desirable. Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors. Location Based Pay Ranges: $129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY. $136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI. $142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA.
