Position Overview: The Assistant Head of School, Development works closely with the Head of School, the senior leadership team, and the Board of Trustees to provide leadership for the development program as it builds a strong culture of philanthropy and strengthens the school's external relations. The primary goal of the position is to design giving programs that attract maximum support for the institution. This full-time, 12-month administrative position reports to the Head of School. Key Responsibilities: Serve as a senior strategy partner to the Head of School Direct all facets of development initiatives: oversee the Annual Fund, organize special events for development, research grant opportunities, manage capital campaigns, and planned giving, and oversee the alumni network Articulate the school's mission, vision, core values, curriculum, and educational philosophy in a compelling and effective manner, partnering with faculty, staff, and senior leadership to align messaging and strengthen the school's sense of community Personally engage with major donors to secure contributions, nurturing existing donor relationships while building new connections, systems, and initiatives to leverage community resources Maintain a comprehensive database of donors and prepare detailed reports on development activities as needed Work closely with the Head of School, board chair, development committee chair, and board members, supporting their fundraising activities and participating in donor meetings when applicable Oversee and manage the budget for development efforts Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School Qualifications: Master's degree A minimum of three years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, with a preference for experience in education At least three years of experience in fundraising, community engagement, storytelling, stewardship Demonstrated success in setting and achieving specific goals Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality Familiarity with donor databases and fundraising software, Raiser's Edge preferred Proven ability to inspire and manage volunteers and team members Outstanding verbal and written communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
