Chief Mechanical Estimator

New York City's leading HVAC mechanical contractor is looking for a Chief Estimator. The Chief Mechanical Estimator will lead the estimating department, overseeing the preparation of bid packages and ensuring accurate cost assessments for mechanical contracting projects. This role focuses on strategic management and operational expertise to align estimating processes with corporate objectives, while fostering team leadership and relationship building within the organization and with clients.Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the estimating team in preparing accurate and comprehensive bid packages. Oversee the analysis of project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, plumbing, ductwork, and controls. Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of estimating with project planning and execution. Utilize estimating software and tools to enhance the estimating process. Monitor market trends and material pricing to inform cost assessments and maintain competitive bids. Validate data and analyze labor factors to provide reliable estimates and reporting to senior management. Provide technical leadership and guidance to estimating staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Develop and implement strategies for effective staff selection and team management, ensuring the alignment of skills with project needs. Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to enhance collaboration and facilitate successful project outcomes.
