POSITION SUMMARY: Project Development & Engineering Director plays a critical part in leading and supporting engineering and construction initiatives with a focus on excellence and client satisfaction. Focus will be on Project Development, Proposal Development, Subcontracted Engineer of Record, Procurement Support, Business Development and leading the Engineering team. Responsibilities: Serve as a project development leader with a focus on execution and strategy. Manage the team of Project Managers with a focus on the development phase of projects. Engage in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) for key projects. Collaborate with Operations Vice Presidents to align project goals. Work closely with other support functions (Estimating, Procurement, etc.) during the development (FEL) phase of projects to help clients and MasTec achieve project sanction. Lead the Engineering team; provide discipline-specific engineering expertise with a strong background in project engineering. Provide Engineering support to ongoing projects and proposals to facilitate winning bids and successful project delivery. Maintain strong client interface and relationship management skills. Collaborate with Operations leads on proposal creation. Partner with Business Development (BD) and Operations to select optimal engineering subcontractors for projects. Oversee engineering scope, schedule, and budget development for EPC projects. Lead all engineering-related inputs, including execution plans, schedules, and procurement coordination. Prepare and maintain proposal technical exceptions, clarifications, and bid packages for equipment and subcontractors. Integrate all necessary engineering inputs into proposals, including execution plans, procurement interfaces, and schedules. Coordinate constructability between engineering and construction parties. Act as the primary interface between MasTec and engineering subcontractors. Business Development Support: Leverage personal networks to cultivate leads for new opportunities. Collaborate with BD teams on client outreach and strategy. Represent MasTec at prospective client meetings, industry events, and other networking opportunities. Enhance MasTec's visibility and brand presence in target markets. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Construction Management, Engineering or related major preferred, or equivalent and direct renewable energy construction experience. Minimum of Ten years of relevant construction, EPC or engineering work experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years of construction Industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management. Professional Engineer certification desirable, with the ability/willingness to hold licenses in the jurisdictions where the company does business. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations. When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors. Set a personal example of safe behavior. Strong data analysis and advanced problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical documents. Advanced understanding of terms, nomenclature and business models used in the construction industry. Ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization and with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Primavera, Procore, InEight and other Construction Software. Write reports, business correspondence and document project activities. Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the general public. Demonstrate past experience leading efforts to identify and evaluate constructability and risk issues, assisting in the preparation of the project schedule, evaluation of subcontractor bids and negotiating contracts with Design Professionals (including scope of services).
