What this job involves - The Chief Engineer is a crucial on-site leadership role responsible for overseeing the engineering team and ensuring the efficient, safe, and responsible operation of all infrastructure systems and equipment supporting manufacturing processes. This position combines technical expertise with strong management skills to maintain facility operations and drive continuous improvement. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Responsibilities: Lead and manage the engineering team, including hiring, training, coaching, and personal development Oversee maintenance tasks for facility infrastructure and production equipment Diagnose and resolve mechanical and pneumatic issues in machines and equipment Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance procedures Manage engineering budget and participate in overall operating budget process Assist in developing capital improvement plans Select, schedule, and supervise contractors, monitoring their performance Respond effectively to emergencies and service calls Lead technical, safety, and operational process training programs Participate in client-facing and property team communications Demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills Qualifications: 7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or similar People management experience (leading a team) Universal CFC EPA certification Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) Preferred Qualifications: Trade school education, union training, military service, or college degree Experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and water treatment Familiarity with energy management and sustainability practices Project management skills Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and use ladders up to 30 feet tall Physical capability for frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving #J-18808-Ljbffr
