The Opportunity Future focused and always one step ahead As the MRAS Global Specialty Insurance (GSI) Cloud Architecture Lead, your responsibilities will include: Defining and building out the GSI Cloud Architecture & Design Team : Establish the team structure, manage the existing team, and oversee the strategic build-out to support GSI as we consolidate cloud efforts across numerous business entities. Cloud Architecture Leadership : Lead all aspects of cloud architecture & design for Azure, AVS, and AWS, including defining and delivering strategic roadmaps and ensuring their execution. Design and Delivery : Oversee the design and delivery of cloud infrastructure across the full Azure product suite, with a focus on cloud-native offerings, leveraging the broader cloud architecture team as needed. Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of 10+ cloud architects located across the US, EU, and India, providing both technical and management leadership. Collaborate with IT, DevSecOps, CCOE, and Security teams to ensure cohesive cloud integration and operations. Strategic Contribution : As a member of the GSI Cloud & DevSecOps leadership team, contribute to strategic planning and provide cloud architectural insights for ongoing initiatives. Performance Optimization and Monitoring : Continuously optimize Azure cloud environments for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Service Catalogue and SLA Management : Define and deliver a service catalog, SLAs, and reporting mechanisms. Security and Compliance : Collaborate with the global cloud and security teams to enforce relevant security standards and configuration processes across the cloud estate. Continuous Improvement : Drive and demonstrate relentless improvement across the Global Specialty Insurance portfolio. Documentation and Communication : Maintain thorough documentation for cloud architecture, standards, and procedures. Communicate cloud strategy and progress to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical. Successful candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practitioner with 15+ years of full stack technical architecture & cloud delivery. A self-starter with a strong motivation to achieve results. Excellent communication skills both written with ability to tailor engagement style as needed based on stakeholder level and technical background. The role requires proven experience engaging with leadership across IT and broader GSI business entities. Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to present complex technical scenarios in a clear and concise manner. End-to-End Technical Architecture Expertise : Broad expertise across the full technical architecture stack, including development, security, IAM, infrastructure (cloud and on-premises), performance engineering, and operations. Emphasis on broad skillsets over deep specialization. Strong and deep understanding of networks given Munich Re's Hybrid cloud estate. This should include a working knowledge of routing, subnetting, and IP stack. CCNA or equivalent would be considered a differentiator. Strong and deep understanding of development architecture - SCM, technical quality definition and enforcement, artifact management, build & dependency management. Java or .NET certification/experience as a developer would be considered a plus. Ability to influence decision making of peers and colleagues in architecture and security practices. Azure Active Directory & Identity Management deployment experience - including federation across hybrid estates. Working understanding of IAM technologies such as SAML and SSO.
