Job Purpose: BTIG seeks a Controller who is responsible for partnering with senior members of the team on a range of financial matters, including leading and overseeing all aspects of Accounting, Accounts Payable and Payroll. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the Firm's internal controls, reviewing and managing all financial reporting, preparing year-end projections, and analyzing monthly and year-to-date budget variances. Duties & Responsibilities: Perform and ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and month-end closing activities including journal entries, adjustments, accruals, and account reconciliation. Ensure accurate supporting documentation is maintained for each journal voucher. Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues. Reconcile discrepancies and resolve vendor accruals. Ensure proper accounting policies and principles are followed in accordance with GAAP. Ensure compliance of internal controls as related to SOX. Support overall department goals and objectives. Provide backup support to the account payable, FPA, and other teams as needed. Monthly accounting and general ledger close functions. Assist with ad-hoc projects and management inquiries. Requirements & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Working knowledge of GAAP principles. At least 7 years' experience working in a finance department preferably in the Financial Services. Proficient in Microsoft Office products especially in Excel, Word and Outlook. Must have the ability to execute multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Entrepreneurial, high performing mindset. Impeccable attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all employees. Proactive, assertive, and creative approach to problem solving. Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. Compensation: BTIG offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Salary range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, years of applicable experience, skills, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and other business and organization needs. The current estimated base salary range for this role is $225,000 - $275,000 per year.
