Corporate Restructuring Bankruptcy Paralegal (Global Law Firm) Location: NYC (Hybrid) Company: Globally Recognized AM 100 Law Firm Comp Package: Base salary to $150K, Paid Overtime, Full Benefits, Bonus, Tuition Reimbursement, 401K+, etc. Base pay range: $140,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Job Summary: A Corporate Restructuring Bankruptcy Paralegal provides legal support to attorneys specializing in corporate bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters. This role involves working on a wide range of tasks related to Chapter 11, Chapter 15, and other bankruptcy proceedings, as well as corporate reorganizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bankruptcy laws and procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information. Key Responsibilities: Case Management: Assist attorneys with managing bankruptcy cases from inception to resolution, including Chapter 11, Chapter 15, and other insolvency filings. Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and properly filed. Track critical deadlines and court dates to ensure timely compliance with legal procedures. Reorganization and Restructuring Support: Assist in preparing reorganization plans, disclosure statements, and other restructuring documents. Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to assist in the restructuring process. Document Preparation: Draft bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements of financial affairs, and other required court filings. Assist in preparing discovery requests and responses related to bankruptcy matters. Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct research on bankruptcy laws, case precedents, and regulatory updates. Assist in preparing case analyses, summarizing legal documents, and providing insights to attorneys on case strategies. Client and Creditor Communication: Communicate with clients, creditors, and other parties involved in the bankruptcy process, including scheduling meetings and telephone conferences. Assist with the preparation and filing of creditor claims and other related documentation. Help resolve issues between debtors and creditors, including facilitating negotiations. Analyze financial documents, such as balance sheets and income statements, to assist in the evaluation of a company's financial situation. Review and summarize creditor claims, payment schedules, and asset distribution. Qualifications: Education: Paralegal certification from an accredited program, or equivalent work experience. Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in corporate bankruptcy or corporate restructuring law. Experience with Chapter 11, Chapter 15, and other bankruptcy filings, including familiarity with bankruptcy software and court e-filing systems. Skills: Strong understanding of bankruptcy law, court rules, and procedures. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to handle complex financial information.
