Posted On 01/17/2025 Job Information Work Experience: 7-8 years Salary: $115,000.00 Transportation: Yes City: New York State/Province: New York Zip Code: 10004 Job Description PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE THE CONSULTANT TO WORK ONSITE. The MTA IT department is seeking an experienced, well-rounded IT professional to assist with supporting Police and Physical Security related technology projects. The consultant will require hands-on technical experience to assist with administering workstations, networks, servers, and physical security software. The candidate must work onsite and may be subject to a Police Background Investigation. Tasks include the following: Ensure that all Police and Physical Security Systems currently installed or introduced into the MTA infrastructure meet IT, Cybersecurity, and Physical Security standards, policies & procedures. Coordinate activities between various vendors, Cybersecurity, IT, and Business groups, as well as provide technical advice and guidance to stakeholders. Assist in identifying and mitigating risks and manage all related tasks to achieve the desired result. Onsite visits and travel throughout the MTA Region are required. The interview will involve technical questions which the candidate must successfully complete. Requirements Hands-on expertise with VMWARE, Microsoft Server (2019-2022), Windows 11 & Active Directory in a System/Network Administrator, System/Network Engineer, or similar capacity. Proficient in troubleshooting network, server, desktop, and Cybersecurity-related issues. Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to identify root causes and steps to mitigate issues. Experience working in a team environment to implement required network configurations, firewall rules, security software installations, and server rack/stack. Expertise in system administration of Enterprise Software with a focus on granular security permissions for access and group settings. A solid foundation in information technology, including the principles and practices of system assessments, administration, and maintenance. Strong analytical skills to comprehend requirements and relate such requirements to the appropriate configurations. Extensive knowledge using Office 365 & Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, PowerPoint & Visio. Ability to make decisions and provide solutions by inquiring, assessing, listening, and evaluating information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. A background in Police, Public Safety, or Physical Security related technology such as Video Management, Access Control, Video Analytics, Physical Security Information Management, or similar technology is a plus. Education and Experience • Minimum Bachelor's degree in IT related field • Minimum 7-9 years of Information Technology experience • 3-5 years of experience in a System Administrator or Engineer role • Physical Security Experience with Video Management, Card Access, Video Analytics Systems is extremely helpful.
