About the Role: As a Staff Product Designer focusing on multi-product onboarding & activation, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and personalizing the onboarding journey for our diverse customer base"”from new customers joining Gusto for the first time, to existing customers looking to adopt new products and plans. Your mission is to guide customers from setup to activation seamlessly, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive, intuitive, and delightful experiences. Here's what you'll do day-to-day: Design a personalized onboarding experience: Create a seamless and intuitive onboarding process tailored to customer needs. Collaborate across teams: Partner with Growth Leads, Mobile, Core Experiences, Sales, Marketing, and product teams. Develop impactful NUX patterns: Design and implement user experiences that simplify product adoption. Optimize the journey: Use A/B testing, customer research, and behavioral analytics to refine onboarding strategies. Ensure consistency: Work with design systems to create scalable onboarding components. Holistic service design: Design with marketing, sales, and customer support needs in mind. Commitment to craft: Maintain a high standard of excellence in UX, systems-thinking, service design, and content design. Here's what we're looking for: 8+ years of experience in full-stack design, with a strong focus on onboarding and/or funnel optimization. Proven experience designing onboarding experiences for B2B or SaaS products. Expertise in mapping and simplifying complex workflows. Deep understanding of B2B customer personas. Proficiency in content design. Demonstrated ability to leverage research and analytics. Familiarity with service design principles. Experience with design systems. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Track record of iterative impact and long-term vision development. Track record of mentoring and coaching other designers. Nice to haves: Experience designing NUX experiences tailored to first-time users. Skilled in creating cross-product experiences. Expertise in interactive design for engaging onboarding experiences. Familiarity with industries such as HR, Payroll, Healthcare, or Fintech. At Gusto, we strive to provide rewards that empower employees to achieve their financial and personal goals. We offer competitive compensation packages with a strong emphasis on equity based compensation. Our cash compensation range for this role is $147,000/yr to $199,000/yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $179,000/yr to $221,000/yr in San Francisco, Seattle & New York. Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week. Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we.
