Manager of Finance and Planning SUMMARY: Reporting into the Senior Director of Finance and Planning, the Manager of Finance and Planning is responsible for the overall financial management. In coordination with Senior Director of Finance and Planning, this position will be responsible for monthly invoicing of all grants and contracts in accordance with funder requirements. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In coordination with Sr. Director of Finance and Planning, responsible for the monthly invoicing of all grants and contracts in accordance with funder requirements. Ensures all invoices are timely and accurate. Promotes timely payment from funders. Assists Associate Director of Finance and Planning and CFO in the development of the Annual Agency Budgets and periodic (monthly or quarterly) financial forecasts. Assists Associate Director of Finance and Planning manage program and agency budgets to maximize revenue and identify potential areas of improvement and cost savings. In coordination with Assoc. Director of F & P, uses financial modeling to simulate financial scenarios and forecasts. Present potential scenarios and outcomes to CFO and/or management team as appropriate, with an eye to avoid financial pitfalls, recommend solutions and improve the financial health of the agency. Under the Assoc. Director of F & P's supervision, works with Program and Administrative Directors to promote continual improvements in financial management against budgets. Conduct monthly financial assessments with each Director and generate reports to be submitted to CFO and the senior management team as appropriate. Works in coordination with Senior Controller to ensure accuracy of financial records and adherence to financial regulations and accounting principles. Works with the Development department and Senior Controller to ensure restricted private donations are spent in accordance with donor restrictions, and financial reports to funders are accurate and timely. Assists Associate Director of Finance and Planning coordinate for all compliance audits from both public and private agencies. Works in coordination with Senior Controller and his staff as required to ensure successful financial audits for both ECS and its affiliates. Manage any other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge and Abilities: Professional Experience Requirements Required advanced quantitative and Excel skills. Prior experience in grants management and/or financial planning and budgeting. Prior experience in budget and contract monitoring a plus. Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Suite related software, and Outlook. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills. Desired skills: Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment, initiative and motivation. Ability to communicate complex information clearly both verbally and in writing. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to gracefully manage multiple priorities. A willing team member and supportive colleague.
