We are looking for an organized, goal-oriented, problem solver to join our team as an SAP ABAP Developer. POSITION SUMMARY: The SAP ABAP Developer will provide IT business process expertise and implement technology to enhance and/or streamline such processes. This position will research and resolve production problems, develop technical specifications from functional requirements for enhancements, and support projects. This position will assume responsibility for the quality and delivery of technology business solutions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: REST API Integration: Design, develop, and consume RESTful APIs to connect SAP systems with external applications. Utilize ABAP-based technologies like RFC, Proxy, and OData to create seamless data exchange. Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for secure API communication. ABAP Development: Develop custom ABAP reports, interfaces, and enhancements to meet business requirements. Optimize ABAP code for performance and maintainability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to ABAP development and integrations. Frontend Development: Develop user-friendly web interfaces using frontend technologies. Integrate SAP backend services with frontend applications using RESTful APIs. SQL Query Optimization: Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to retrieve data from SAP & external databases. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in SQL queries. Utilize indexing and query optimization techniques to improve query performance. SAP Modules: Possess a strong understanding of core SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, FI/CO, CRM) to effectively integrate with external systems. Collaborate with functional consultants to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Data Migration and Conversion: Design and execute data migration strategies, including data mapping and transformation. Utilize ABAP tools and techniques to efficiently migrate data between SAP systems and external sources. Contribute to the overall system architecture, including data flow design and integration patterns. Adhere to best practices and coding standards to ensure code quality and maintainability. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education & Experience : Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and 2 years relevant experience; any equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical Skills : Strong proficiency in ABAP programming language. Extensive experience in developing RESTful APIs using ABAP. In-depth knowledge of SAP Gateway, OData, and RFC. Proficiency in HANA data modeling and database concepts. Understanding of XML, JSON, and HTTP protocols. Experience with SAP HANA and CDS views is a plus.
