Overview GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of H-1 Subject Matter Expert in Huntsville, AL to provide programmatic subject matter expert (SME) support for Apache programs. Programmatic support includes meetings, developing schedules, attending teleconferences, evaluating discussions, and other duties related to ongoing programs. Responsibilities Participates in program and system reviews and provides an analysis of system upgrades and system sustainment; Assesses ongoing and new Apache modifications for support and recommends changes accordingly; Performs analyses and other evaluations on the Apache components to improve processes and performance; Supports evaluations to support design, development, production, modification, and fielding of Apache weapon systems; Provides engineering program management support for ongoing Apache programs at the PIF. Provides input and recommendations for product assurance strategic plans; Prepares, plans, and provides input for conferences, meetings, program reviews, technical interchanges, and user meetings; Demonstrates the diverse aviation background as an Aviation Subject Matter Expert (SME), in both enduring and future programs; Applies mastery knowledge of a wide range of analytical methods to assess and evaluate the status, effectiveness, and efficiency of programs; Applies an extensive knowledge of administrative, acquisition, and logistical regulations and precedents applicable to one or more important programs; Develops detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long-range implementation and program administration; Assignments require analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity affecting major administrative, functional, and/or acquisition programs; Performs the full range of administrative and/or technical duties as requested by customer. Qualifications High school diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred; A minimum of twenty (20) years of relevant experience is required; Less experience may be considered with an advanced degree; DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required at start; Subject Matter Expert (SME) with an Aviation background is highly desired; Ability to perform detailed and complex calculations is required; Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications is required; Ability to work independently with minimum supervision is essential for this role; Self-starter, highly organized and able to work well with people is essential for this role; Able to multi-task with strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills is required.
