Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Quality Management Director - Outcomes and Mortality Program Employment Status: Full time Shift: Day Requisition Number: 149132 How You'll Help Transform Healthcare: Oversight of Outcomes and Mortality (OM) programs for Carilion Clinic to include Mortality, Sepsis, Stroke, Patient Safety Indicators, Hospital Acquired Conditions, among other patient outcomes by developing program structure, improvement objectives, engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders. Manages and executes program deliverables according to the program plan as defined by the program charter. Through a multi-program analysis and in collaboration with the CAPS leadership team, prioritizes program deliverables which are identified to have the greatest positive impact on outcomes based on a systematic weighting algorithm. Manages assigned staff and collaborates with other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. Oversees CAPS resources dedicated to support outcomes and mortality and all CAPS-owned outcomes and mortality improvement project system-wide. In addition to improvement in patient quality and safety, identifies opportunities for maximizing revenue and reducing risk of revenue loss. Uses data to effectively communicate these opportunities to the appropriate stakeholders to ensure data-driven decisions are made related to the identified goals and resource allocation. Serves as a content expert resource related to the Vizient database, providing quality-related data for all facilities and appropriate benchmarking as requested. Serves as an educator of the specifications and methodologies for all programs within OM. Serves as an educator of quality improvement methodologies and tools as needed. Ensures tasks associated with OM deliverables are done within required timelines. Ensures Joint Commission standards compliance related to OM. Ensures alignment of initiatives with quality plan, publicly reported programs, and other accrediting organizations. Remains informed of all program specifications and methodologies relating to OM. What We Require: Education: Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration management or a healthcare related field required or equivalent 8 years of related experience. Master's degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of healthcare leadership experience with focus on healthcare quality, process improvement and project management. Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to make compelling arguments and build trust with stakeholders. Strong analytical skills and experience in translating organizational objectives into actionable, quantitative plans, and overcoming obstacles to delivery. Advanced leadership, planning, and organizational skills to direct initiatives and achieve fiscal goals. Strong presentation skills to communicate opportunities, timelines, and expected outcomes. Database management experience, including data reporting, analysis, management, and data visualization; Vizient experience a plus. Experience in quality improvement activities related to healthcare, with knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and tools.
