Job Summary: A Senior Network Administrator will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure. Responsible for evaluating, implementing, and overseeing network and application systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance. This role requires a deep understanding of networking and systems, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities: Evaluate, implement, and manage the organization's local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network systems. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco network systems, including Nexus-series switching, wireless, routing, firewalls, and Meraki. Collaborate on cloud networking within AWS, ensuring secure, scalable connectivity between cloud and on-premises networks. Configure and optimize routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF for efficient data flow and network stability. Evaluate and recommend network hardware and software upgrades to improve performance, security, and scalability. Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues to ensure smooth operations. Diagnose and resolve complex network and application-related issues. Acting as L3 escalation, respond to support tickets and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing downtime. Implement and enforce security best practices including supporting vulnerability assessments for network environment. Monitor network traffic patterns and bandwidth utilization to identify areas for optimization and capacity planning. Perform day-to-day operations to maintain SLAs and business functions. Acquire knowledge of new technologies and may implement to benefit Horizon and disseminate this information to IT staff members. Manage vendor relationships including hardware, software, and maintenance contracts. Document processes and procedures for infrastructure support. Ability to run technical meetings with peers and above. Education: Bachelor's degree required or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. Work Experience: 10+ years of related IT work experience. Knowledge: Requires knowledge of Cisco network systems. Requires Microsoft server technologies. Requires working knowledge of AWS and Cloud platforms/technologies. Change Management methodologies preferred. Skills: Requires strong problem solving and analytical skills. Requires excellent communication skills and ability to write and discuss clear procedures regarding technical issues. Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of personnel. Excellent customer service. Ability to work independently and as a team. Ability to develop project plans. Additional Comments: Skilled in capacity planning, analysis, and performance tuning of network environments. Create and execute project plans in support of network initiatives. Participate in design and planning of hardware and software requirements. Demonstrate technical and advisory leadership for customers, and consultants and effectively communicate technical and business messages. Advance the art and methodology used internally for the delivery of customer solutions. Ensure standardization of systems implementation, support techniques, and adherence to formal processes, change control, best practices, and total quality practices in all activities. As part of a 24X7 team, support production, maintenance, emergencies, and critical corporate projects. Excellent understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WINS, SNMP, OSI layers, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, VLANs, telnet, FTP, Secure FTP, VPN, HTTP, and HTTPS, Load Balancers (F5, ALB, and NLB). Solid understanding of Windows infrastructure including Active Directory, NT domains, and day-to-day operations within infrastructure. Salary Range: $106,400 - $145,215 This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
