If so, we have an awesome opportunity for a Software Development Systems Design Engineer with a focus on Microsoft Windows systems engineering. This involves the integration and optimization of hardware, firmware, drivers, OS and applications in a complete working solution. You will be working on new products, laptops, desktops and workstations from our OEM partners getting them ready for launch. You will also be working on the latest AMD and Microsoft Windows features, configuring, enabling and optimizing them on our latest products. The Person: We are looking for an individual that loves platform integration, development and debugging. You are a mix of programmer, developer and systems engineer. Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will work with AMD feature engineers, Microsoft engineers and OEM engineers, ensuring new features are enabled and optimized on new devices. You will lead and execute benchmarking software packages to understand feature performance. You will configure, install and deploy a number of platforms across AMD and other partners, to be used as internal engineering units, monitoring usage, errors and performance. Develop windows drivers, tools, scripts and system firmware (BIOS+EC). Debug problems, find root cause and perform failure analysis. Take on new and challenging projects in areas new to industry or new to AMD. Preferred Experience: 8+ years of hands-on programming in C / C++ and Python / Other scripting languages. 8+ years of experience debugging software / firmware, must have experience debugging hardware related issues. 5+ years experience debugging Microsoft Windows (WinDBG, Windows ADK, Windows SDK). Deep understanding of S0i3, system sleep studies, boot performance and other system characteristics. Hands on experience on device provisioning through Microsoft DISM, WinPE or other industry tools highly desired. Demonstrate exceptional strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
