Cleveland State UniversityEngaged Learning Serves as a lead technical expert for design, planning, coordination, development, installation, modification, and monitoring of the Cleveland State University data, video, and voice network. Works with University teams to set direction for the University data, video, and voice network. Functions as a support position and may work outside normal business hours as required. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Related work experience may be substituted for education requirement. One (1) year of related work experience can be substituted for one (1) year of education. For example, a candidate with a high school diploma, GED, or state-recognized equivalent and six (6) years of related work experience can be eligible to apply. Four (4) years of experience implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices. Four (4) years of experience as a senior or lead network engineer in a large-scale Ethernet environment. Technical working knowledge of the following: (1) LAN/WAN: TCP/IP, EIGRP, CDP, IP routing, BGP; (2) Switching: Cisco IOS and Nexus; (3) Security: Cisco ASA 55xx or NGFW, Cisco ISE; (4) Operating Systems: Windows, Linux; (5) Applications: MS Office, VISIO, Wireshark or other packet analyzer, Netscout, ServiceNow; (6) Wireless: Cisco Wireless Controllers; and (7) Server and Storage administration experience. Ability to work flexible and irregular hours and participate in on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Experienced in Cisco UCS platform, Infoblox DDI, IPV6, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, SolarWinds or other network management, Cisco Digital Network Architecture (Cisco DNA), Cisco Nexus, Scripting (bash, Python, PowerShell). Experience with both copper and fiber optic cable plants. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Experience in hardware and software evaluation and selection processes. Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and decision-making abilities. Excellent analytical and programming skills. Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations. Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being highly organized, self-directed, and forward-thinking. Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans.
