Lancaster Development Incorporated Description The Computer Aided Drafting Engineer will supervise all aspects of surveying and construct 3-D models for construction of infrastructure projects such as bridges, roads, airports, pipelines, water and sewage systems. Duties/Responsibilities Establish a plan for project's survey control that will meet or exceed the project stakeholders' specifications and ensure a maximum practicable level of redundancy, accuracy and precision is achieved. Direct the implementation of that plan by communicating with field personnel. Document, report and archive the procedure and results. Use Trimble Business Center software to generate a 3-D model of construction projects to be used by survey field personnel for stakeout and by equipment operators for soil grading. Coordinate with users of the model to develop the most useful product possible. Coordinate with project stakeholders and managerial staff to develop the most accurate product possible. Compute quantities of volumetric pay items such as excavation, embankment and gravel products. Develop and draft various permitting maps used for aggregate mining operations and asphalt production operations. Other related duties as assigned. Compensation $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience plus health insurance, pension, and travel expenses. Requirements MUST PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING, must be willing to travel, must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment which includes long hours, must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, must be able to multi-task and accommodate multiple requests effectively, must be able to work independently as well as part of a team, must be able to communicate well with management, crew and project owners' representatives. Education A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program is preferred. In lieu of an advanced degree, 5+ years of experience in heavy highway or bridge construction required. Computer Skills Strong PC/Microsoft Office skills (including MS Excel/MS Word) are required. Knowledge of Bentley Microstation formatted data is a plus. Ability to work with electronic files including 3D Models of construction sites is required. Professional Licenses/Certifications A Professional Engineering License and Registration in NY is preferred. Driver's License Must have valid driver's license, good driving record required. Operations Experience Experience on DOT projects is a plus. Knowledge of GPS Survey, GPS Machine Control and 3D Models is required. Knowledge of control traverse/networks, road alignments, station and offset and other highway related surveying is required. Boundary Survey experience is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
