Program Name: Smith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center ______________________Position Description: Therapeutic Integration SpecialistSmith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center The Smith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center (SHECLC), a Brightstar rated "5-Star" Pre-K program, is searching for a Therapeutic Integration Specialist to join our team! Therapeutic integration services are designed to support successful participation of children with special developmental and behavioral needs within the typical early childhood environments. The responsibilities of the Preschool TA/Therapeutic Integration Specialist are to provide general support and specific interventions designed for the assigned children. Responsibilities: • Assist the classroom teacher in supervising children to ensure their safety & wellbeing• Provide instruction and facilitate groups & individual children under the direction of the Teacher• Collaborate with the teacher to assess the strengths & needs of children• Design appropriate classroom activities• Provide a nurturing & supportive environment for children using positive behavior interventions & preventative strategies to manage classroom behavior• Complete required number of training hours each year by attending in-house in-services and local workshops & trainings• Assume temporary responsibilities of the Teacher in their absence• Report any special needs or problems of individual children to the classroom teacher• Work with children who have special healthcare needs• Report any cases of suspected child abuse and/or neglect to Director or make a direct call to DCYF as a Mandated Reporter Shift & Schedule: M-F, with alternating opening or closing shifts (4-month rotating work schedule of 8.5 hours within the times the center is open - 7:00am-5:30pm)Location: Providence, RI Brown University Health is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer. Associate's degree or 2 years college credit in the fields of early childhood, special education, or psychology preferred.• 1-year supervised experience working with children in a typical childcare program required.• Complete CPR & First Aid certifications (we will provide training & certification during orientation).• Ability to work a 4-month rotating work schedule of 8.5 hours within the times the center is open (7:00am-5:30pm). Capital City's Smith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center is located in the heart of Providence's Smith Hill neighborhood. The center operates from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and serves children ages three through five years who represent our racially and culturally diverse community. Financial assistance is available to low-income working families struggling with rising child care costs. SHECLC has been participating in the RI Department of Education's Pre-Kindergarten program since 2015, building to a total of 5 certified classrooms for 90 children. Pre-K education is a priority goal in Rhode Island, and the SHECLC is proud to have been one of the earliest sites selected to participate and maintain its rigorous standards. Children from Providence who turn 4 years old by September 1 are eligible to apply through a lottery process every spring. Smith Hill Early Childhood Learning Center participates in the Rhode Island Department of Human Services' KIDS CONNECT program that funds children with special needs to participate, play and learn, along with their typically-developing peers. #J-18808-Ljbffr
