Job Title: Tax Manager - CPA Location: Onsite in Encino, CA Job Description: A well-established Tax Firm in Encino, CA, is seeking an experienced Tax Department Manager to lead and oversee its Tax Preparation department. This position is ideal for a licensed CPA or EA with expertise in tax resolution, tax preparation, and team leadership, who is eager to contribute to a dynamic and client-focused environment. Key Responsibilities: Department Management: Lead the Tax Prep department, ensuring efficient workflows, high-quality standards, and compliance with all tax regulations. Tax Preparation Oversight: Supervise the preparation of individual and business tax returns, maintaining accuracy, completeness, and adherence to federal and state requirements. Staff Training and Development: Train, mentor, and support a team of tax preparers, offering guidance on complex tax matters and promoting professional growth. Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to streamline tax preparation processes and enhance client service delivery. Client Interaction: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns related to their tax returns and providing timely updates on tax matters. Compliance Management: Stay informed on current tax laws and regulations, ensuring the department meets all legal requirements. Qualifications: CPA or Enrolled Agent License: Active CPA or EA is required Experience: 5+ years in tax preparation, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role, ideally within a tax resolution or accounting firm. Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax preparation software and strong knowledge of IRS guidelines, state tax codes, and relevant accounting standards. Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and interact professionally with clients.
