The Shift Supervisor plans and directs the activities of Union employees as part of a five day/three shift manufacturing operation of FPC, MPC and PMP Specialties compounds. The supervisor is responsible for contributing to the achievement of department objectives in key areas of safety, quality, and productivity. This supervisor should possess outstanding leadership and communication skills and be able to motivate others. The supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, troubleshooting operational problems, and working efficiently with other departments to meet established metrics and promote an environment of continuous improvement. A great opportunity to develop a team!Essential Functions:Instills and fosters a commitment to site safety objectives. Conduct activity observations and incident investigations in support of overall Safety improvement metrics.Meets regularly with shift personnel to review safety and housekeeping performance and define areas for improvement.Continuously evaluates current manufacturing practices and processes for improvement.Implements all departmental initiatives for improved plant lay-out and efficient work flow.Ensures compliance with department operating procedures. Trains employees and maintains accurate shift training records. Effectively manages daily production activities to achieve departmental objectives in productivity, yield improvement, and operator utilization.Directs the shift workflow supervises shift employees.Maintains daily shift production log.Schedules shift assignments for succeeding shift.Maintains daily job rotation schedule.
