An award winning restaurant group in NYC is looking for a Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the HR functions across our restaurant group, ensuring compliance with company policies, labor laws, and best practices. This role will provide direct support to restaurant managers and employees in areas including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, training, and compliance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, balancing HR strategy with hands-on support. Key Responsibilities Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist in recruiting, screening, and selecting qualified candidates for hourly and management roles. Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs for new hires, ensuring a seamless integration into the company culture. Maintain job descriptions and job postings to attract top talent. Employee Relations and Compliance: Act as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, workplace issues, and conflict resolution. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations. Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures across restaurant locations. Handle and document employee relations matters, conducting investigations when necessary. Training and Development: Support training initiatives, including leadership development and compliance training. Assist with performance management programs, coaching managers on best practices. Partner with restaurant leadership to foster an inclusive and high-performing workplace culture. Payroll and Benefits Administration: Conduct payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping and compliance with wage laws. Ensure benefits enrollment and administration, addressing employee inquiries and facilitating open enrollment. Manage leave of absence requests and coordinate with employees on PTO, disability, and other leave benefits. HR Systems and Reporting: Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and ensure data integrity. Prepare HR reports, tracking key metrics such as turnover, employee satisfaction, and compliance audits. Assist with HR-related projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry. Strong understanding of labor laws and HR best practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in HRIS (HARRI), payroll systems (ADP), and Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
