Routine manual and clerical work in a stockroom or property room. Work involves the receipt, storage, maintenance and issuance of supplies, materials, property and equipment. Employees perform considerable manual work in the receipt, storage, and issuance of supplies, including the keeping of simple store records and inventory cards. Employees in this class assist Stock Clerk IIs or other superiors in a large storeroom, or are in charge of a small storeroom housing supplies of limited variety and volume. Work is reviewed by a superior who maintains or spot checks control records of stock turnover. Essential Functions Receives, unpacks and stores parts, uniforms, goods, supplies, equipment and other City property; places such items in appropriate storage areas such as bins, floor stacks, shelves, etc., so that they are readily available when needed. Picks up orders from suppliers and makes deliveries to the assigned City destination. Checks quantity and condition of goods received against invoices and purchase orders; checks number and unit cost as well as total billing for charges against proper records. Takes inventory, maintains records of goods received, and keeps simple store records and perpetual inventory controls. Checks work orders for parts needed and issues materials, supplies, uniforms, tools, equipment and other stock on hand. May do simple typing of record cards, purchase orders or related forms. Cleans storerooms and keeps stock in order. Prepares daily work sheets of activities performed. Performs other related work as required. Minimum Requirements A high school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years experience in storekeeping or clerical work. A Valid Driver's License from any state (Equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized upon application, however prior to appointment a State of Florida Driver's License (Class E or higher) must be presented to the Department of Human Resources and must be maintained valid throughout employment. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience beyond high school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years of the required experience. If submitting transcripts, submitted transcripts must include the following: student's name, school name, number of credits, degree completion, and major. * Translations of degrees are not accepted as proof of education. * Degree audits are not accepted as substitution for proof of education. * Copy of valid Driver's License from any state (Equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized upon application, however, a State of Florida Driver's License (Class E or higher) is required at time of appointment and must be maintained valid throughout employment. To qualify under the equivalency clause, applicant must provide proof of education in one or more of the following applicable forms: copy of high school diploma or equivalent, transcript showing at least 60 college credits, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree or higher. * Approved Credential Evaluation Agencies: Credential evaluation reports showing the United States equivalency for academic credentials earned in other countries may be provided by: * An accredited four-year college or university in the United States, OR * A current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), OR * A current member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE), OR * A recognized Professional Organization For additional list of approved credential evaluation agencies visit the Florida Department of Education It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all required documents submitted with the employment application are in a format that is acceptable, clear and legible for eligibility determination or risk being disqualified.
