Founded in 2008, Butter Beans provides nutritious, wholesome meals for charter schools, private schools, and summer camps throughout the New York City and tri-state area. In addition, Butter Beans operates corporate cafeterias and offers catering services at notable institutions like the New York Hall of Science Museum in Queens. Butter Beans seek cafe managers for locations based in Manhattan and Queens, NY. Work schedule Sunday - Wednesday, 9:00am - 4:30pm Key Responsibilities: Team Management: Lead, mentor, and supervise a small team (5-7 individuals) to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service. Customer and Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring a top-tier experience every time. Staffing Management: Oversee scheduling, training, and performance management for all team members. Cost and Inventory Management: Monitor food costs and labor, track inventory, and place orders as needed. Operations and Food Safety: Oversee food prep, cooking, and ensure adherence to food safety standards. Manage point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures. Timekeeping and Payroll: Handle timekeeping and payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely pay for all team members. Required Skills and Experience: Bilingual (Spanish Required): Must be fluent in both English and Spanish to communicate effectively with diverse staff and customers. Â REQUIRED: Food Handlers Card from the New York Department of Health with strong understanding of food safety procedures. Food Service Experience: 5+ years in the food service industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role (managing a team of 5-7 people). Operational Knowledge: Experience with food prep, cooking, food safety, customer service (FOH), and point-of-sale systems. Management and Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a focus on team mentorship, customer satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of service. Cost Management: Proven experience in managing food and labor costs while maintaining profitability. Tech Savvy: Proficiency with PC and relevant software programs (e.g., scheduling tools, inventory management systems).
