Military Maintenance Specialist II

Overview The Vermont Military Department is looking for a Military Maintenance Specialist to work primarily at Camp Johnson in Colchester. Military Maintenance Specialists are responsible for maintenance work across multiple trades including but limited to: * Carpentry * HVAC * Plumbing * Electrical * Heating Military Maintenance Specialists also maintain the grounds, roads and training areas requiring snow removal in the winter months. May be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, dozers and heavy trucks equipped with plows and wings. Additionally, qualified candidates will have: * Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in facilities maintenance and repair work. * Knowledge of safety procedures required when performing construction or repair of building systems. * Ability to follow instructions. * Ability to work independently. * Ability to complete assignments correctly, and in a safe and timely manner. * Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors.
