Walker Surgical Center is looking for a Inventory Control Specialist to join our growing team in Walker, MI. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the facility operations of materials management to ensure efficient and effective patient care. This would include the planning, sourcing, and controlling of inventory and non-inventory items as well as collaboration with internal and external customers to manager an efficient flow of all materials. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Organize the functions of materials management, including the purchasing, receiving, and three-way match processes. * Implement best practices for proper inventory control and turn rates, maintaining suitable par levels and economic order quantities (EOQ's). * Utilize the MMIS appropriately to ensure accurate data and an efficient flow of information. * Practice effective cost reduction techniques while preserving high quality patient care. * Promote positive relationships with potential and existing vendors to review material information and vendor performance/scorecards. * Respond to fluctuation in schedule to avoid both stock-outs and excess stock. * Assist with training, in-service, and review of new and existing staff as needed. * Collaborate with Accounts Payable to provide accurate financial reporting from MMIS. * Update and review quarterly key performance indicators (KPI's) to monitor performance and unveil improvement opportunities. * Oversee the recording of implant records into patient's Electronic Health Records (EHR). * Attend all mandatory in-services and staff meetings. * Other duties as requested/assigned. EDUCATION * Minimum of HS Diploma. Bachelor's Degree preferred. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE * Minimum of six months experience in healthcare supply chain or related field. * Position requires analytical, organization, and communication skills. * Experience working with a comprehensive Materials Management Information System (MMIS). * Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.). * Knowledge of key materials management terms and medical terminology. * Ability to lift 30 pounds. * Ability to work well with physicians, staff, administration, and vendor representatives.
