The Supervisor, Continuous Improvement is responsible for design, deployment, facilitation, and training of continuous improvement methods for assigned areas of distribution center. Also, manage continuous improvement projects that would include, Kaizen events, Six-Sigma and lean implementation and training as well as follow-up to ensure progress, continuity, and sustainability of the continuous improvement efforts. Lead and implement vision for future state order fulfilment throughout the facility and throughout the geographic network. This position will serve our RPD Division, located in Randleman, NC. * Deploy and implement lean TPS methodologies in departmental team projects that are aimed at continuously improving operational, quality and safety processes while eliminating non-value added processes to reduce cost * Conduct Kaizen events, Lean TPS training, and develop team members to lead Kaizen events and training * Maintain lean implementation schedules for assigned projects, progress updates as required, and most importantly, provide documentation that demonstrates the direct link between lean implementation and direct process improvement and plant operations * Develop, lead, and implement future state materials plan with assistance of team * Provide CI training and coaching at all levels of the Plant * Assist leadership with lean initiatives * Participate on and lead teams aimed at the resolution of quality issues and concerns * Collects data, conducts time studies, uses BI to pull & analyze data, recommends process improvements * Leads quality control initiatives * Manages claims handling and conducts investigative research & analysis to drive down claims and increase customer satisfaction * Support production control, material control and material planning departments in improvement projects relating to scheduling, inventory management and raw material flow and tracking * Interface with plant engineering on projects addressing staffing, manpower, time and capacity issues. * Where needed, identify and purchase equipment and supplies to address process and production issues * Assists in troubleshooting processing concerns related to distribution and supply chain * Researches, designs, implements automation projects * Creates, maintains (revises), and controls DC SOPs * Participate in department budget process * Assist in development and tracking of department metrics * Gain understanding of department operations through participation, and immersion in day-to-day operations of department * Drive standardized work implementation and/or improvements * Performs other duties as assigned * Bachelor's Degree in business administration, Engineering, or related field * 5+ years' experience in a lean manufacturing environment, in a job focused on process improvement within the manufacturing and/or distribution facility * Experience utilizing skills in optimization, distribution, supply chain, production control, etc. * Supervisory experience * Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy. * Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite. Specifically, MS Excel skills and experience needed to do advanced analyses & data manipulation. * Demonstrates ability to work well with others is a cross-functional, matrix team environment. * Ability to speak/present information in front of groups. * Independent thought, good judgment, problem solving skills, and ability to prioritize multiple projects. * Ability to analyze information and form a recommendation. * Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen Teams and standard work methodology.
