At NEXUS Club New York a Kid's Club Cafe Attendant is a client-facing hospitality role with a broad range of responsibilities in a space that requires direct interaction with both child and adult clients. Being cheerful, personable, and comfortable engaging people of all ages is fundamental to this position. The Café Attendant role requires quick thinking and action in providing café service to members and their guests. The role is also a childcare role, requiring a person who can create a great environment for kids. Primary Duties Demonstrate the values, polices, and services standards of NEXUS Club New York. Ensure the safety of children in Café, adhering to company policies and common-sense guidelines. Communicate fluently with Club Supervisors and Management regarding any/all issues. Support the Supervised Care team with childcare as available or required. Operate an electronic point-of-sale, taking customer orders and ringing them in. Prepare hot and cold café beverages. Provide over the counter style service for members and guests. Perform service support tasks including running food, bussing, and resetting tables. Maintain a clean and tidy environment in the Café including light cleaning of tables, chairs, and floors. Maintain an understanding of the Club's food and beverage menus. Perform other job-related tasks as required by management or requested by members or guests. Organizational Relationships This position reports to the Kid's Club Supervisor. This position also has an indirect reporting relationship with Food and Beverage Managers and Supervisors. This is a line-level role with a peer relationship to other line-level roles. Qualifications Experience working with children. Experience working with/overseeing children in a group setting a plus. Experience in a quick service or café service role. Experience in fine dining or luxury environments a plus. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time. Weekend and evening availability is required. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour Schedule: After school Day shift Evening shift Every weekend Work Location: In person
