Shipping Associate

JOB SUMMARY Monday to Friday 8am-5pm Primary duties of this position are to assist in packaging shipments. Other duties, tasks and work may be assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Verifying every picking ticket matches the order number on the box. * Maintain an organized shipping environment * Keep shipments on schedule * Good communication skills and quick responses to other departments. * Very efficient in UPS, FedEx, Purolator, & Loomis software * Understanding of commercial invoices * Understanding of Freight Orders * Package industrial electronics and related components for shipment May be modified from time to time. Other duties, tasks and work may be assigned. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED * Strong Computer proficiency * Ability to multi-task * Ability to work at fast pace * Attention to detail * Problem solving abilities * Good communication skills METRIC & MEASUREMENT * Package Handling - Employee must maintain standard packaging procedures that assure accuracy, while adjusting the volume of work. * Packaging counts are measured and checked for accuracy against standard. Employee must continue to maintain accuracy throughout the month for the bonus program. * Employee will be evaluated on the accuracy of the orders packaged and his/her performance level as measured against volume demand. * Employee will need to average 21 points per, 120 boxes per day. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * High School Diploma or equivalent required PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Occasional sitting, reaching/working overhead, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling * Frequent walking * Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion * Occasional sitting, reaching/working overhead, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling * Frequent walking * Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion * Lifting requirements include frequent lifting of up to 150 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 10 pounds
