Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they're well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities: The Sr. Analyst - Inventory Management and Strategy combines their knowledge of inventory-management and analytics to lead planning systems and identify process-improvement opportunities supporting inventory policy. They will do this through work on strategic projects to support inventory spare-part planning for aircraft parts required by the maintenance operation of United Airline's fleet. This includes management of existing automation tools/systems and demonstrating continuous-improvement skills and tools to identify and lead new projects to improve inventory efficiency. * Collect and interpret sophisticated data sets to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support decision-making to optimize inventory allocation and purchase activity * Collaborate cross-functionally to support successful launch of Distribution center and strategic automation projects * Document inventory strategy/policy decisions; communicate to partners * Proactively seek out opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the business * Recommend adjustments to strategy and tactical planning parameters (planned service level, consumption segments, etc.) to balance inventory risk against cost within the existing policy direction * Prepare and deliver presentations that summarize findings and recommendations clearly and persuasively to audiences including senior executives United values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply. Qualifications What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): * Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, management information systems, engineering, economics, finance or related field * At least three years of experience in an analytics or process-improvement role in supply chain, aviation, manufacturing, or related industry * Strong problem-solving skills; using data-centric solutions to identify and address problems with a sense of urgency * Ability to complete a root cause analysis and use the findings to guide business change * Ability to identify automation opportunities in existing processes to improve efficiency * Knowledge of relational database models and SQL * Understanding of supply chain operations, planning and management * Understanding of supply chain functions including sourcing/procurement, vendor management, inventory planning, warehousing, and logistics * Strong written and verbal skills * Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, etc * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship * Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification * Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): * Master's degree or equivalent experience in quantitative field such as math, statistics and/or MBA * Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification * Experience with continuous improvement methodologies * Experience using statistical and mathematical methods * Experience in inventory management * Experience in a related field involving automation of sophisticated business processes * Familiarity with ERP capabilities * Strong background in one or more supply chain functions * Familiarity with Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) functions * Familiarity with the airline industry * Understanding of Supply Chain planning tools * Familiarity with MRO planning * Programming experience in a scripting language such as Python, R, Julia, Java, JavaScript United Airlines is an equal opportunity employer. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
