Butcher Dept. Manager About us: Jubilee Marketplace opened its first doors in 1999-2000 in NYC. For 20-plus years, we have been one of the first supermarkets to offer organic, gourmet, and specialty products. Fast forward to 2023, when we open our biggest store in Greenpoint! We are pushing the boundaries of what a supermarket is by being the first supermarket to offer local, pasture-raised meat in a whole animal butcher shop. We dry age all of our own meats, have a cheese shop, a sustainable fish program, and we carry local organic produce. We believe the future of supermarkets can be more than just common denominator goods. Description of the Role: We're seeking an experienced butcher shop manager to join our team and take ownership of the butcher shop at Jubilee Marketplace. Core competency for a successful Butcher Department Manager applicant is a proven track record managing operations for a butcher shop, which also has a focus on sustainable, whole animal butchery. This is a "Player Coach" role. We are looking for a person who: Has a strong personal work ethic that extends to each customer and team member interaction at Jubilee Is a good listener and active learner. Has strong personal integrity to do a job well. Has strong communication, task management, customer service skills, and is able to prioritize the needs of the shop on any given day. Works cleanly and values organization. Core Responsibilities of the Role This is an on-site role that requires a minimum of 5 days of on-site attendance, and 1 possible flex-day based on staffing capabilities of the location. Strict compliance with local health-codes Maintaining a Grade-A inspection report from NYS Agriculture and Markets Responsible for all record-keeping on all products and functions; especially as it relates to HACCP. Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment for employees and customers alike.
