Plans, assigns, coordinates, and supervises a large number of Bridgetenders in the operation and maintenance of bridges throughout Palm Beach County. Recommends staff hires, terminations, and promotions; issues disciplinary actions; writes performance reviews; prepares reports/payroll; coordinates work with other agencies. Operates county vehicle; serves as emergency stand-by with vehicle for hurricane and wind storm preparations. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience. PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Assigning/planning/scheduling 24-hour shift work coverage for a large number of employees (must specify a minimum of 25). Also desirable: Knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations; knowledge of the operation of bascule bridges. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Hearing Loss Test and Color Vision Test required for selected candidate.
