Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to lead our production team during the overnight shift. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of the anodize production operation, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the night shift. The 3rd Shift Supervisor will manage the production team, monitor operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that production goals are met while focusing on continuous improvement.What You'll Be Responsible For: Supervise 3rd Shift Production Team: Manage and lead a team of production operators, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Monitor performance to consistently meet production targets, safety standards, and quality requirements. Production Monitoring: Oversee the anodize operation on the 3rd shift, including finishing operations. Ensure that all machines and equipment operate at peak efficiency, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and ensure that production continues without downtime. Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with environmental and health regulations. Lead by example, maintain a safe working environment, and conduct regular safety checks and audits. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of the products produced during the shift, ensuring that they meet required specifications. Work with quality control personnel to address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve any production issues or bottlenecks. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical problems with production machinery, ensuring minimal disruptions to the production schedule. Production Planning & Scheduling: Work with the production team and other departments to ensure that all necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available for the shift. Ensure that production schedules are followed and that any delays or changes are communicated to management. Team Development & Training: Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to production staff as well as establish routine expectations for production staff and specific expectations for each day based on current operating conditions. Ensure that team members understand their roles, the importance of quality and safety, and company expectations. Continuous Improvement: Encourage and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean manufacturing practices, to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance the quality of the final products. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities, machine maintenance, safety inspections, and any incidents. Prepare and submit end-of-shift reports to management, highlighting performance, issues, and any corrective actions taken. Collaboration with Shift Supervisors on other shifts: Coordinate with other shift supervisors and management to ensure smooth transitions between shifts, share relevant information, and resolve any ongoing production or operational issues. Equipment Maintenance & Coordination: Ensure routine maintenance tasks are completed, and any urgent equipment issues are addressed swiftly to minimize downtime. Work with the maintenance department to schedule repairs or maintenance during non-production hours when necessary.Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to work in an industrial environment with elevated noise levels, heat, and exposure to heavy machinery. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety goggles, and gloves.Work Environment: Manufacturing facility with high temperatures, industrial equipment, and fluctuating noise levels. 3rd shift schedule (overnight), with possible overtime, weekend shifts, or rotating schedules as needed.What You'll Need: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role; experience in aluminum production or manufacturing is a plus. In-depth knowledge of metal surface chemical finishing processes (e.g., anodizing, electroplating, or chemical treatment) and related machinery would be helpful. Strong understanding of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Proven experience in troubleshooting production equipment and resolving technical issues. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. Ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency with production management software and basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
