Technician - Application Specialist JobID: 5601 Position Type: Technology/Computer Technician Date Posted: 1/16/2025 Location: Administration Office Date Available: 02/03/2025 Closing Date: Until Filled Additional Information: Show/Hide Primary Job Functions: Provides direct data (rostering, account provisioning) support for multiple ACSC Departments including, but not limited to curricular applications. Supports application integrations and data needs for various ACSC processes. Serves as a liaison with software and hardware vendors. Responsible for implementation and maintenance of a variety of student (PowerSchool), human resources, and business operations (Skyward) software and data systems. Works closely with process owners to identify and deliver solutions. Salary Lane: TECHD - Hourly pay starting at $27.00. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Assigned Workday Calendar: 260/261 days (School Year Days) Job Status: Full-Time (40 Hours per Week) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Benefits: Full-time positions are eligible for medical, dental insurance as well as supplemental benefits such as vision, life insurance, disability, etc. Eligible for PERF Retirement. Paid Time Off Benefits: Eligible Holiday Pay: Eligible Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience in Technology or Related Field * Certification: Security+ preferred; Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA Database) or other database certification preferred. * Experience: Candidates with experience in areas listed below are preferred. * Working across business units * K-12 school operations * Managing data integrations * Application management * Single sign-on * Scripting / ETL management * Skills and Knowledge: * Excellent written and verbal skills. * Ability to present complex technical topics to a non-technical audience. * Database management, server management, and application implementation skills are required. * Be an example of exemplary adult behavior for students. * Project a genuine care and concern for all students. * Other: Ability to maintain a positive relationship with pupils, staff, parents, and the community. Essential Functions: * Maintains database integrity, security, and operation in a variety of applications. * Manage applications and associated data processes. * Works closely with other business units (HR/Payroll/Finance) to improve reporting and data processes. * Performs platform upgrades and implementation as needed. * Provides direct technical support to ACSC business units (HR/Payroll/Finance) for installation, operation, maintenance, and custom modification of commercial administrative software. * Oversees and ensure data integrity. * Manages application system security. * Collaborates with business units (HR/Payroll/Finance) to design and develop automated systems to streamline manual processes. * Write custom scripts and programs for application integration. * Occasionally perform duties outside of the normal workday, including after hours and weekend. * Collaborate with designated district and building personnel to plan, schedule, run, implement and update software systems. * Ensure compliance with developed IT policies/standards and HIPPA/FERPA. * Promote integration of appropriate software to support operations and instruction. * Maintain inventory of district software portfolio. * Manage vendor/consultant relationships during project implementation. * Provide periodic briefings as requested. * Troubleshoot system problems and errors. * Collaboratively prepare system, job, program, and user documentation. * Participate in professional development, as assigned. * Comply with all Avon Community School Corporation policies, guidelines, procedures, and protocols. * Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
