Audio SupervisorBarrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking an Audio Supervisor to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. This position oversees the audio department throughout the 2025 season and ensures high-quality sound in line with the artistic vision for all BSC productions. The Audio Supervisor oversees the Associate Sound Supervisor, Sound Board Operators, and the Sound Technician. This position requires a driven individual with exceptional leadership skills, excellent organization and time management skills, and an extensive knowledge of theatrical sound systems. We strongly encourage candidates of color, and/or from diverse backgrounds/underrepresented groups to apply.Responsibilities:Manage the audio team to provide all audio support for productions and events throughout the BSC 2025 seasonCollaborate with sound designers to determine a seasonal rental package, and source equipment to effectively create their designs in the theatreMaintain accurate and up-to-date paperwork for each production including plots and cue sheetsConsult with Production Management and the creative team to best meet the needs of the production and create accurate cost estimates to remain within budgetProvide rehearsal sound systems for playback of effects or music in rehearsal studios as necessaryCoordinate and manage the load in and out of sound equipment including supervising the staff of the audio department and any overhire staff neededCoordinate with other departments to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness when planning load-ins or changeoversProvide Production Management with accurate load-in/out and changeover paperworkTrain run crew in the handling of any sound equipment as necessaryAttend rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and production meetings as needed, and promptly respond to notes given throughout the rehearsal processInstall and ensure communications systems for each production are in working order, including headsets, cue lights, backstage and house paging systems, dressing room monitors, conductor camera feeds, video monitors, additional video cameras and monitors if needed, and assisted listening systemsKeep the audio shop clean and organized throughout the seasonMaintain and update audio inventoryMaintain a safe and healthy working environmentAccurately track expenses and provide expenditure reports to Production Management in a timely mannerKeep up to date on current trends and technologies in sound design and suggest improvements to the company's stock or sound systemsMaintains clear and consistent communication with Production Management and other Department Heads to ensure effective collaboration throughout the seasonSkills:Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational and time management skillsKnowledge of theatrical sound systems and equipment including mixing consoles, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, EQ and processing gearExperience with recording, editing and playback of sound effects and musicExperience mixing live soundKnowledge of theatrical audio software such as Qlab and DanteAbility to accurately budget and create cost estimatesPosition reports to Production Management. It is a full-time, seasonal position.Contract: 4/21/2025 through 9/28/2025Pay is $1000 per week, exempt, with housing available
