Get to Know Your Team: * Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit. Responsibilities * The General Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, replacing, or otherwise improving items of the Hospital Facilities or equipment. Perform semi-skilled work in several crafts. * Perform semi-skilled tasks. (Examples) repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors or other building fixtures, plumbing and electrical, basic carpentry skills required * Adjust and make repairs, "on location" to equipment and physical plant * Construct or reconstruct equipment and the physical plant * Perform a variety of small construction tasks as directed * Install such new equipment, as directed * Responsible for snow removal during and after hours * Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary * Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair * Perform other duties of the department, as assigned Qualifications Job Requirements: * A high school diploma or GED * 3 years in maintenance, various types of equipment, and physical plant * 2 years of construction experience in basic carpentry and drywall * Skilled in the use of hand and power tools. * Proven maintenance experience. Preferred Job Requirements: * Hospital setting experience
