Adecco Creative is partnering with an iconic luxury brand in North Bergen, NJ to recruit for a Craftsperson for their handbag repair department. This role will be ongoing contract and is onsite 5 days per week. Job Title: Craftsperson – Leather Cutter Primary Purpose: To support the Repair Department pertaining to leather preparations with the upcrafting of consumer product.The successful individual will leverage their proficiency to: Partner with the Patternmakers to render leather pieces based on pattern descriptionsPositions leather onto the table and starts the cutting machine to cut out the required piecesUses correct pattern form to cut leather according to work order specification style and sizeMonitors operation on cutting machine to detect malfunctions and informs Team Lead of problemsBased on specific project needs; cutting repaired / restored leather to upcraft product Handcrafting skills; skiving by handMachine operating; skiving, splitting, folding, sewing, foot press, clicker etc..Qualifications:5+ years industrial sewing experience is requiredMust have high attention to detail and craftsmanship, leather cuttingMust willing to assist with other functions, as neededAbility to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneouslyEager to learn and increase skills and quality of workWorks well under pressure to meet deadlinesProfessionalism in attitude, appearance, and approachMust have a positive attitude and work well with othersAn outstanding professional will have…High school diploma or GEDPrevious experience on skiving, splitting, folding, sewing, foot press, clickerUnderstanding of handbag constructionsAbility to read and interpret design cards and specificationsUnderstanding and working experience in luxury leather handbags and goodsBi-lingual: English, Spanish
