Our facilities are located in Vicksburg, MS, and Memphis, TN.Ergon offers a competitive benefits package: 401(k) Matching, Health, Life, Dental, Holidays, Vacation, Sick Leave, Tuition Assistance, and Profit SharingDeckhand Responsibilities include the following:Complete Deckhand Job Qualification Workbook within 90 days of employmentComplete Vessel Orientation within 12 hours of boarding a vesselDeckhands and crewmembers are responsible for his own health, safety and hygieneTrain under the guidance of the captain and an experienced deckhand to learn the duties of a deckhandUse proper PPE while aboard any EMIS or customer vessel or dockAsk questions and understand the safe way to perform a task before attempting to do itBe familiar with company policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations abiding by them at all timesResponsible for reporting any hazardous or unsafe condition to the captain and taking action to prevent accidentsAssume the responsibilities of Deckhand as he is trained to perform them (refer to Deckhand Job Profile for these responsibilities)Responsible for various other duties assigned by the captain which may vary from vessel to vesselAssist other personnel when neededDeckhand Qualifications:Must be eighteen years of ageHigh School Diploma or GEDPhysically fit to perform manual laborMust be able to lift 70 lbs.Must be able to read, write and comprehend written instructions, documents, etc.Must be able to swimMust obtain or be in possession of a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card)Must have a valid Driver's LicenseThe person selected must be able to work in any environment (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
