The Forensic Mental Health Program provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment. The Direct Care and Treatment Forensic Mental Health Program is looking for an excited, qualified person-centered, compassionate individual that will enjoy working with a diverse population as the St. Peter, MN campus' Canteen Operator. The Canteen Operator primarily provides coverage to ensure sales and services continue at our various canteens and stores on campus. This individual will work with a variety of items, inventory, and outside vendors. This qualified individual will primarily be responsible for tracking/maintaining inventory and sales records. This individual will also ensure fiscal control, processing invoices for payments, and transactions are completed in a timely manner with accuracy. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: + Comply with MN Dept. of Health's Food Code and ensuring safety and sanitation standards. + Interview and train potential patients to work in the canteen/stores as part of the patient's vocational programming advanced placement progression. + The ability to problem-solve in the moment and work through difficult situations **.** **Minimum Qualifications** To qualify, you must have: Working knowledge of specific conditions of clients at the Forensic Mental Health Program i.e. mental illness, developmental disabilities, personality disorders, psychopathic personalities, chemical dependency etc. Demonstrated competence in all staff mandated trainings to include but not limited to CPR, First Aid, VAA,TI, PST, Right to Know, Infection Control, etc. Experience in working alongside patients and staff at the Forensics Mental Health Program. Ability to process transactions, learn and operate a cash register, and maintaining a price scanning barcode system. Bookkeeping skills sufficient to operate within a budget at Forensics Mental Health Program, tracking all spending/expenditures, sales, and profits. Data entry skills sufficient to enter and update financial data into computer applications and Forensics- specific systems such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other mailroom applications to include the Forensics Operations Management System Driver's License to operate and use a state vehicle to purchase items that cannot be ordered or shipped in. English Language skills sufficient for the ability to read, write, and speak to sell market items to customers. Leadwork skills sufficient to work with and lead a diverse client/patient working population within the Forensics Mental Health Program. Math skills sufficient to quickly be able to add, subtract, process transactions, and make change with accuracy.
