PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner. * Travel to customer sites to inspect, install, commission, test, calibrate, repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products. * Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system. * Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments. * Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner. * Utilize safe work habits. * Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. * Perform all other duties as assigned. FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES * Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair drilling equipment such as: * Analog and digital PLC based systems * Proprietary integrated control systems (Cyberbase, Amphion) * Variable Frequency Drives * Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems * Electrical Systems (including various types of AC/DC motors) * Mechanical Systems (including fittings, gearboxes and bearings) * Provide training to other NOV personnel on aforementioned systems and equipment as needed. * Provide accurate and timely report(s) to appropriate personnel regarding work progress and output. * Collaborate frequently with internal and external customers EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or GED Equivalent * Completion of technical training school or an equivalent background in a similar environment * 2-5 years experience working on and troubleshooting PLCs, electrical components, and oilfield equipment * Working knowledge of Direct Soft, Step 7, and Amphion software preferred * Comply with all QMS documentation pertaining to work related assigned responsibilities JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to pass a drug screen & background check. * Valid Driver's license required - as you will be operating a company vehicle. * Must provide transportation from home to the office. Transportation to customer's location will be provided. * Must obtain NOV corporate credit card and maintain an active status per NOV credit card policy. * Overtime will be required - must be willing & able to work nights, weekend, and on-call 24/7. * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics required. * Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic/control circuits required. * Ability to utilize various electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters, oscilloscope, and basic hand tools required. * Ability to interact effectively with customer and contractor personnel. * Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. * Able to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed when working independently. * Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures. * Must be able to work under pressure to achieve deadlines. * Ability to meet or exceed standards as established by the department. * Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties. * Work in harsh environments including rain, snow, heat, and heights in excess of 150 feet.
