Position SummaryThe Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of manufacturing personnel to satisfy customer quality and on-time delivery needs in a safe and effective manner. This position is responsible for supervising all hourly labor employees in the assigned manufacturing areas and shift. This position is also responsible for effectively coordinating with other departments to support effective use of manpower, materials, and equipment, as well as productivity improvement initiatives.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.Physical DemandMust distinguish colors and pass a colorblind testMust be able to lift, carry, relocate approximately 50 lbs. of objects, materials, and/or productAbility to stand for long periods of time - Frequent bending, stooping, moving within plantRepetitive pushing and pulling motion of wire cable materialsEye hand coordination - Hand and finger dexterityPosition Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. The manufacturing plant is open 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. There are three shifts with typical hours of: 1st Shift 6:30AM - 3:30PM 2nd Shift 2:30PM -11:30PM3rd Shift 10:30PM - 7:30AM TravelLittle to no travel is expected for this position. Education and ExperienceProgressive supervisory experience in a team-based manufacturing environment highly desirableHigh school diploma/GED required, with advanced degree preferred Basic computer skills with the ability to enter data accurately required Experience in manpower scheduling of personnel and jobs assignments due to changing priorities, customer demands, etc. Excellent verbal communication skills to exchange information with all levels of the company Ability to maintain production schedule in accordance with targeted customer deadlinesWire and cable experience highly preferred Lean/Six Sigma experience desirableOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
