Job Description Summary: The Senior Production Supervisor will direct all the Laughing Cow production line operations at the Little Chute site directly, and through a 2nd shift supervisor. This position is responsible for the manufacturing of the finished products while respecting all the legal, union and customer requirements. This position is ultimately responsible for 50+ employees (consists of multi shifts and seasonal period) and will replace the Operations Manager during absences. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Manage all Laughing Cow production operations in terms of efficiency, cost, complete and on-time delivery, safety, quality, sanitation, employee relations, visual controls and performance assessment versus a defined budget and standards. * Set goals and KPI for the safety, quality and production in line with the entity and company objectives. * Develop and maintain all necessary reporting to assess overall production performance, including understating OEE, levers to improve such as reducing downtime, reducing waste, and operator effectiveness. * Provide leadership of Production and Sanitation Supervisors and hourly union employees. * Member of the Labor Management and Safety Teams. * Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development. * Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and complete on-time delivery at lowest possible cost. * Assist with determining production headcount needs. * Identifies and communicate potential opportunities for capital investments. * Proactively pursue any necessary improvement projects identified. * Perform other related duties as assigned. * Coordinate activities between departments, i.e. Production, Warehouse, Maintenance. Safety, Environmental and Quality * Follows all safety rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others. * Follows all environmental protocols as applicable to the job. * Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy. * Follow all food safety procedures. * Maintains a sanitary and safe work area; performs housekeeping duties as necessary and/or required. * Detects potentially hazardous conditions and problems and takes appropriate action to report and/or correct. Knowledge/Education * Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Management or other related field with at least 3 years of experience in production supervision is preferred; experience in dairy and/or food processing is preferred. * In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in production supervision/lead in a manufacturing environment; experience in dairy and/or food processing is preferred. * Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following: o Packing and packaging principles technologies o Dairy industry regulatory requirements o Microbiological knowledge and familiarity with product and ingredient testing o Dairy and cheese production technologies o MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; SAP experience is a plus * Demonstrated continuous improvement experiences: optimize production, reducing downtime and waste * Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a coaching mentality * Strong organizational and project management experience is preferred Competencies and Abilities * Ability to communicate and develop good working relationships with team members. * Strong management skills with the ability to clearly communicate expectations and motivate peers, direct reports and other interested parties. * Excellent communication skills; understands audience and adjusts communication to drive desired results. * Must be able to accurately and efficiently perform all job duties with a sense of urgency. * Exhibit Bel's core values of: * CARE o Inspire and grow self and others by developing yourself and others through challenge and support with honest constructive feedback o Act with people and planet front of mind in all decisions and actions. * DARE o Think bold, act fast by being ambitious with ideas and initiatives. Working Conditions: Work is performed in office and manufacturing environments. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours and average at least 40 hours a week. There will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns. Employee is required to frequently stand and walk through the plant and is required to inspect equipment. There will be infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs., and occasional crawling into confined spaces. Some travel will be required - US as well as international. All Safety and Quality guidelines must be adhered to when working in the plant. Protective Equipment: Employees must wear safety glasses, non-slip safety toe shoes, protective gloves, hair net, Tyvex gown, and ear protection, as required. Relationships: Has strong relationships with QC, Logistics/Distribution, Finance, Purchasing, HR, Supply Chain and Maintenance.
