Job Summary: The VP of HR will provide leadership and guidance to the organizations HR operations, ensuring that policies, procedures, and best practices are legally compliant and effectively implemented. Beyond strategic oversight, this role demands active involvement in day-to-day HR activities, utilizing a strong functional HR background to address immediate needs and foster continuous improvement. This position will collaborate with teams across the organization to enhance workforce engagement, lead development initiatives, and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion. By identifying and executing long-term strategic talent management goals, the VP of HR will help cultivate a thriving, inclusive workplace culture that promotes both employee development and achievement, as well as the organizations sustained growth. Duties/Responsibilities: Collaborate with HR staff to guide HR operations and align efforts with the organizations strategic goals. Work with HR team members to develop, implement, and enforce legally compliant HR policies, procedures, and best practices that support organizational objectives. Address daily HR functions and provide team-oriented, practical solutions in collaboration with HR colleagues. Partner with the HR team to troubleshoot and improve HR processes and practices. Participate in salary benchmarking and compensation analysis. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements through joint monitoring and updates to policies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive workforce engagement strategies that foster a high-performance culture. Co-lead and support development programs and initiatives for employee growth and career progression. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion with HR peers to create an inclusive work environment. Work with HR staff to identify and execute strategic talent management goals, including succession planning and leadership development. Oversee benefit administration collaboratively, including leave management, benefit enrollment, and broker relations. Collaborate on HRIS functions to ensure efficient system operation. Help monitor and respond to CAST (HR Helpdesk) requests. Partner with HR staff on talent management responsibilities, such as performance improvement plans and performance management. Collaborate on employee relations, including conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives. Promote continuous improvement in HR practices for better efficiency, effectiveness, and employee satisfaction. Stay informed on industry trends and integrate best practices with HR staff to support organizational success. Complies with established company work rules, policies, and procedures. Actively engages with other members of the company to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase profitability. Cooperatively takes on other duties, roles, or responsibilities, as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide executive-level decision-making. Deep knowledge of HR functions including employee relations, compensation, benefits, and compliance. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to build trust and foster collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Working knowledge and experience with Paycom. Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, problem solving, organization, and decision-making. Willingness to perform site visits at various company locations in Illinois, including but not limited to Chicago, Wheaton, Burr Ridge, and Carol Stream. Education and Experience: Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. At least ten years of human resource experience in progressively responsible HR leadership roles required. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or other HR certifications strongly preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer. Lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to access various departments of a given location. Must be able to occasionally travel to other locations to represent the companys interests. Salary Range: $140,000-$150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
