Job Summary: The Project Engineer II (PE II) performs different functions assigned by the project manager. These tasks may involve researching and resolving project issues, procurement and tracking of major equipment, issuing subcontracts, scheduling and updating project data; managing paperwork, maintaining/updates status logs, and contributing to progress reporting to clients and project manager. Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee document control functions (RFI's, submittals, drawings, closeout docs, QA/QC docs, observations, punchlists) Field management (work with superintendents/QAQC managers on specific project expectations) Small projects (document review, quantity take-off, RFP's, quote leveling, estimate input, create proposal, negotiations) Scheduling: Review project schedules for accuracy and evaluate current progress and impacts Address/manage lead time issues for OFCI Equipment tracking Manage buyout order deliveries to site/offsite prefab Communicate with GC or vendors on schedule issues to get resolution Manage subcontracts (RFP's, bid leveling, subcontractor selection, write subcontracts) MOPS: Work with QA/QC and field personnel to develop MOPs for new builds and new tasks Qualifications: At least two years of experience as an electrical project engineer or Journeyman Electrician BSc/BA in construction management, engineering, or relevant field experience Good understanding of electrical construction and materials Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, Primavera P6 & Bluebeam Outstanding communication and customer service skills Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment Working Conditions: Mostly office-based with typical working hours Monday - Friday during normal business hours. Extended hours may be required as deadlines approach, including some weekend work. The APM in the field may be required to work out of the office and occasionally stay away from home for short to long periods. Some travel may be required for training/continuing education. Physical Requirements: The PE II is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Direct Reports: The PE II may occasionally oversee project coordinators, project admin, project engineers, and work with labor superintendents, QAQC manager, detailers, and foreman.
