Job Overview: This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader to step into the newly established role of Senior Vice President, Data Technology, and drive transformational impact. As SVP of Data Technology, you'll report directly to the CIO of Data Technology, positioning you at the strategic heart of data innovation and analytics enablement for the organization. In this influential role, you'll spearhead a comprehensive transformation of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Data Analytics. Leveraging AWS, Snowflake, Tableau, and other cutting-edge technologies, you'll drive forward our mission of providing unparalleled data and analytics services to our independent advisors, firms, and large institutional clients. Beyond client services, you'll champion the democratization of analytics, ensuring that our internal teams can access, analyze, and act upon data insights more efficiently than ever. Responsibilities As SVP of Data Technology, you will be entrusted with a range of critical responsibilities that are pivotal to our mission and our strategic outcomes. Strategic Data Leadership: Lead the end-to-end transformation of the data ecosystem, establishing best-in-class practices across Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Data Analytics to empower independent advisors, firms, and institutional clients as well as our internal users. Team Leadership and Development: Manage and inspire a high-performing team of data engineers, data architects, and platform specialists. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Data Infrastructure Oversight: Lead all data engineering functions, including the development and management of LPL's data lakes, warehouses, BI, and AI/ML platforms, to ensure efficient data storage, processing, and analytics capabilities. Data Analytics and BI Leadership: Drive the adoption of data visualization, advanced analytics, business intelligence (BI), and machine learning to enhance decision-making processes across LPL's advisor network and institutional partners. Cloud-First Strategy: Architect and deploy scalable cloud-based data solutions using technologies like AWS, Snowflake, and AI/ML platforms, ensuring security, resilience, and real-time processing. Budget Management and Cost Optimization: Oversee the budget, ensuring the team delivers on objectives within financial parameters. Implement strategies to optimize cloud costs, resource allocation, and technology investments, driving operational efficiency. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Partner closely with business leaders, product managers, and technology peers to ensure data initiatives align with organizational goals and deliver tangible business value. Data Democratization: Champion domain-based design, data accessibility, and usability, designing scalable solutions to support internal stakeholders and democratize analytics across the organization. Regulatory Compliance & Data Governance: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and data governance practices, promoting data integrity, security, and trustworthiness across platforms. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay at the forefront of data technology trends, bringing new ideas and innovations to keep LPL's data platforms competitive and future-ready. Advisor & Investor Experience Champion: Engage directly with financial advisors to understand their needs, driving technological solutions that enhance their ability to serve clients effectively and efficiently. What Are We Looking For? A leader who is interested in an opportunity to lead data technology at one of the fastest-growing fintech firms in the country. We are seeking a data visionary to join LPL Financial and be a part of a transformative journey that is shaping the future of financial services. Requirements: Minimum of 15 years of experience in data technology and engineering, including data architecture, cloud platforms, and analytics, with at least 5 years in senior leadership or SVP level. Proven track record in leading large-scale data warehouse and analytics transformation initiatives, particularly in cloud-based environments (AWS preferred). Strong experience with data lake architectures, data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake), and real-time data processing systems. Expertise in implementing AI/ML solutions at scale, leveraging modern machine learning frameworks and platforms. Leadership experience managing and growing large engineering teams, with a focus on fostering talent and innovation. Technical Competencies Proven leadership in executing transformative projects, with a strong command of modern cloud-based data processing, analytics, and AI/ML, utilizing the AWS technology stack. A passion for data-driven decision-making, with a track record of delivering impactful data solutions that drive business success. Skilled in crafting robust data ecosystems optimized for high-volume, real-time operations, employing databases such as RDS, NoSQL, along with advanced data technologies like Snowflake and BI tools such as Tableau. Deep understanding of modern workplace practices including Domain-Based Design, DevSecOps, Continuous Delivery, and Agile methodologies, with an emphasis on Lean principles. Excellent communication skills, capable of working with leadership to demystify complex data concepts into tangible plans and strategies, underlining the importance of cloud adoption pathways and pinpointing initiatives that resonate with the intended architectural and business aims. Experience within the financial sector, especially in wealth management, securities, and trading, is preferred. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Core Competencies Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Pay Range: $232,600.00 - $387,600.00 Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
