ALIGN PRECISION - Anaheim | Plant II20445 E Walnut Dr NCity Industry, CA 91789, USA The programmer utilizes CAD/CAM software to develop programs to control contour-path machining of metal parts on 3 through 5 axis machine tools. Provide tool designs and concepts to achieve end item product build and production rate working within engineering and quality specifications. Ensures conformance to established procedures and Customer Engineering and Specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Develop manufacturing process for new and legacy 3-5 axis parts. Design work holding and fixtures in CATIA, MASTERCAM. Program parts and fixtures using Mastercam, CATIA. Use machine simulation software (Vericut) to ensure collision free code. Aid in quoting new work, including design for manufacturability feedback to customers. Communicate and resolve issues with peers/manufacturing. Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas on new and legacy parts. Consults with supervisors, other programmers, and end users to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems. Converts designs and specifications into computer code. Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs. Other duties as assigned. Have a minimum of 3-year Mastercam or Catia V5 experience. Experience with GD&T. Self-Starter / Self-Motivated / Flexible / Detail-Oriented. Reliable and dependable. Positive internal and customer focused attitude. Must enjoy fast pace and rapidly changing environment. Strong ability to organize, prioritize and communicate. Champion projects to ensure meeting customer delivery. On-the-job Mastercam/Catia training/growth will be provided for the motivated applicant. Knowledge and Skills:Requires special technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network support for multiple users. Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking and accessory equipment. Abilities:Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively. Must be able to install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain all of the software applications and peripheral equipment used at the college. Must have strong communication and training skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands Depending on the assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. May periodically travel to satellite sites.
